There is Heaven and there is Hell. Which place will be your eternal destiny? Well, that question will not be answered specifically until the time of death. But, whose side are you on? That's a different question. Simple enough. Right? Let’s go through the Baptismal vows, of which every Catholic should be well acquainted, which are renewed at least once a year during Eastertide:
Do you renounce Satan? And all his works? And all his empty promises? Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth? Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered death under Pontius Pilate, and was buried, rose from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father? Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting? In the first part of the Baptismal vows, much consideration is given toward our efforts to outright reject Satan, all his minions and all his allurements toward sinfulness and the perverse. In today’s world, nothing can be in more plain sight than the upside-down nature of the lies, deceit and perversion we have seen in the culture, the world of politics and the infiltration of evil inside the Catholic Church. Can anyone doubt that spiritual warfare is in full force today? Sin is called good. Lost is the concept of evil. To me, nothing is more filled with error than the popular statement, “It’s all good.” The only one who is all good is our Triune God alone and is worthy of all our love.
We barely need examples, but here goes:
· Pelosi calls the current prolife laws sinful.
· A newscaster reports a peaceful protest is going on with a ransacked burning building behind him.
· The Pope is ramping up his hate of Catholic Traditions while warming up to secular globalists.
· A large part of the Gen X, Y and Z suffered from being a product of the poor catechesis by Baby Boomers at large who think less about the Ten Commandments, no less demonstrate an understanding of how every sin is egregious to God and not to be taken lightly. For instance, it is common place to see that many are not keeping holy the Sabbath day, adultery is rampant, adopting occult practices and flaunting their symbols are more common than you think, creating idols out of a person, place or thing, and the list goes on and on. I am told by many that everyone has an “ideology” that is true for them and I must accept it. Truth itself is on trial once again in a big way, similar to the time in which Pontius Pilate asked, “What is Truth?” What happened to the Christian backbone? Newsflash, the Catholic faith is not an ideology! Recite the Creed over and over again until it sinks in.
While the world seems to be trying to spin in a reverse direction, the reality is that it is not. We obtain and maintain our footing when we put our faith into practice. My refuge and help is in the Lord, who made Heaven and earth. I am holding fast to the Faith handed down to me at my Baptism and by my parents and from our forefathers up to the Apostles and Jesus Himself. I am reminded this day to renew my Baptismal promises even though it is not Eastertide. It is good to pray the rosary daily and go to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as often as you can, where the Apostles Creed is an infused prayer.
I choose Christ.
