"Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle." 2 Thessalonians 2:14

Life is an extraordinary gift from Almighty God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God deserves our greatest esteem and loving response by practicing the fullness of the faith under any circumstances. Through the steadfast love and care of my beloved parents, I was blessed to receive the next extraordinary gift, that of Infant Baptism under the auspices of the pre-conciliar Church and the old pre-1955 Roman rite. The font of graces that flow from this powerful Sacrament sets a person immediately on the path toward Salvation through Christ. But it’s up to us to maintain our good standing. So, hold on tight to what you were taught in Christ. Always keep in mind the powerful spiritual gifts imbued in our soul from Baptism, that of the “indelible mark of Christ”– a protective gift from God that cannot be removed, purifies us of the stain of original sin, opens the…

On May 30, 2024 we celebrated the Feast of Corpus Christi, the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist. This Feast day should give us great pause to meditate on why our Lord sits at the right hand of God yet has not left us orphans after His Ascension to Heaven.
First consider that God created all things out of love for us in order that we might live with Him eternally. When we and earth pass away, where will we find ourselves? Since we did not create ourselves, our eternal destiny is of serious consequence that depends on our answer to the Father’s will, calling us to follow Christ and receive His precious body and blood in the Most Holy Eucharist in order to unite ourselves to Christ’s Divinity in every way in line with God’s Providence.
Let us begin with thinking about the innocence of…

I am no scholar, nor do I have any formal theological background on which to write anything of great consequence on the subject of the Incarnation of God made man. I am a grandmother who by upbringing in the Catholic faith by loving parents that taught their five children to honor, love and respect Jesus Christ and His teachings through the one true faith of the Catholic Church and by the Catechism classes we were urged to regularly attend- though laxity increased when we reached the high school years lay claim to an ever-burning and growing love for Christ and all the treasures lying deep within the Catholic faith that help us build upon our relationship with God and nourish our souls. That said, today belongs to Mary the incomprehensible Immaculate Virgin on the Feast day of the Mother of God, January 1, 2024, though this day is also …

PROVERBS 8:22-35. The Lesson prayed at Holy Mass on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, Dec 8. The preaching of wisdom. Her excellence.
The Lord possessed me in the beginning of His ways, before He made any thing in the beginning.
I was set up from eternity, and of old before the earth was made.
The depths were not as yet, and I was already conceived, neither had the fountains of waters as yet sprung out.
The mountains with their huge bulk had not as yet been established before the hills I was brought forth.
He had not yet made the earth, nor the rivers, nor the poles of the world.

PRAYER OF SAINT ALPHONSUS LIGUORI | THE ONE THING NECESSARY
By Saint Alphonsus Liguori
O MY GOD, help me to remember that time is short, eternity long. What good is all the greatness of this world at the hour of death? To love Thee, my God, and save my soul is the one thing necessary. Without Thee, there is no peace of mind or soul. My God, I need fear only sin and nothing else in this life, for to lose Thee, my God, is to lose all. O my God, help me to remember that I came into this world with nothing, and shall take nothing from it when I die. To gain Thee, I must leave all. But in loving Thee, I already have all good things, the infinite riches of Christ and His Church in life, Mary's motherly protection and perpetual help, and the eternal dwelling…

There is Heaven and there is Hell. Which place will be your eternal destiny? Well, that question will not be answered specifically until the time of death. But, whose side are you on? That's a different question. Simple enough. Right? Let’s go through the Baptismal vows, of which every Catholic should be well acquainted, which are renewed at least once a year during Eastertide:
Do you renounce Satan? And all his works? And all his empty promises? Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth? Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered death under Pontius Pilate, and was buried, rose from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father? Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,…
