Chocolate Frosting for Grandma's Birthday Cake

About the Recipe

It's a tradition. Chocolate Frosting to go with Grandma's rich and luscious yellow cake.

Ingredients

  • 3 sticks butter

  • 3 3/4 cups confectioner's sugar

  • 3/4 cup Droste cocoa powder

  • 4-5 Tablespoons heavy cream or half & half or whole milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder

Preparation

Step 1: Cream the butter.


Step 2: Add the remaining ingredients. Blend well.


Step 3: Frost cake.


Step 4: Top the cake with colorful decorative cake Sprinkles; apply long stemmed gold birthday candles...fire up the cake and away she blows. Deo gratias! Blessed with the possibility of another year. Reminds Grandma of when she was working and received a letter at the beginning of a fiscal year awarding her with a promise of another years work. She was successful in making it to retirement. She hopes to make it Heaven now. A happy goal! Love the Lord with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your soul! It's a beautiful life!
